Minister of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities, Benkin Rikani, in the presence of Defence Minister Thabit Al-Abbasi, has approved the master plan for a new residential city in Baghdad dedicated to Iraqi Army personnel.
The project, designed to modern urban standards, will feature over 114,000 housing units. It will also be connected to the adjacent Ali Al-Wardi Residential City via an integrated road network. A joint team from the ministries of construction and defence will oversee the land allocation and issuance of property deeds.
Minister Al-Abbasi expressed his gratitude for the initiative and confirmed plans to develop similar housing projects for military personnel in other provinces.

صادق وزير الإعمار والإسكان والبلديات بنكين ريكاني، بحضور وزير الدفاع ثابت العباسي، على المخطط العام لمدينة سكنية جديدة في بغداد مخصصة لمنتسبي الجيش العراقي.
المشروع المصمم وفق المعايير الحضرية الحديثة سيضم أكثر من 114 ألف وحدة سكنية. كما سيتم ربطه بمدينة علي الوردي السكنية المجاورة عبر شبكة طرق متكاملة. وسيشرف فريق مشترك من وزارتي الإعمار والدفاع على تخصيص الأراضي وإصدار صكوك الملكية.
أعرب الوزير العباسي عن امتنانه للمبادرة وأكد وجود خطط لتطوير مشاريع سكنية مماثلة لمنتسبي الجيش في محافظات أخرى.
