Lieutenant General Mazin Abdulwahid Kbian, Commander of the Iraqi Navy, oversaw the delivery of three patrol boats from ENM Korea during a visit to Umm Qasr Naval Base on 25th January 2025.
According to a statement from the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, these high-specification vessels, equipped with advanced surveillance and communication systems, will enhance Iraq’s maritime security capabilities.
“Their deployment is expected to improve the protection of Iraqi territorial waters, oil terminals, and commercial ports, which are critical to the country’s economy,” it continued.

وفقا لبيان صادر عن وزارة الدفاع العراقية، فإن هذه الزوارق ذات المواصفات العالية والمجهزة بأنظمة مراقبة واتصالات متطورة ستعزز قدرات الأمن البحري للعراق.
وأضاف البيان “من المتوقع أن يؤدي نشرها إلى تحسين حماية المياه الإقليمية العراقية ومحطات النفط والموانئ التجارية التي تشكل أهمية بالغة لاقتصاد البلاد”.
