Transport Minister Opens ITL EXPO 2025
Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi opened the Transport, Aviation and Logistics Services Exhibition (ITL EXPO 2025) on Wednesday, attended by officials and representatives from local and international companies in transport, infrastructure, and logistics.
“Investment in the transport sector yields significant economic returns by reducing costs, enhancing trade competitiveness, and improving supply chain efficiency. Transport is the foundation of any sustainable economic renaissance.”
He added that ITL EXPO 2025 represents an important platform for strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors, encouraging knowledge exchange, and attracting quality investments. Nations that mastered transport systems, he noted, were able to define their economic and political strength.
Key Achievements Highlighted:
- Completion of Mosul International Airport
- Near completion of Nasiriyah International Airport
- Modernisation of Iraqi Airways fleet with 13 new aircraft
- 78% completion of IOSA corrective programme
- Iraq’s accession to international TIR transit system
Al-Saadawi highlighted Iraq’s accession to the international TIR transit system as a major step toward implementing the Development Road project — one of the region’s most strategic initiatives — linking Iraq to global trade through an integrated network of highways, railways, and industrial zones that reduce costs and travel time while creating broad investment opportunities.
He emphasised that the Development Road is not merely a transport corridor but a comprehensive economic and developmental project encompassing modern ports, industrial cities, and investments across eight key sectors: agriculture, industry, trade, tourism, energy, transport, communications, and logistics. The initiative, he said, will create hundreds of thousands of jobs and strengthen Iraq’s non-oil revenues.
“Iraq today is not waiting for the future – it is creating it.”
The Minister also noted that the ministry is modernising Iraq’s railway network, particularly along the Baghdad-Baiji-Mosul corridor, as part of a broader infrastructure development strategy aligned with sustainable development and environmental goals.
During a panel discussion at the event, Al-Saadawi said the workshops and seminars held with Iraqi and international experts will have a lasting positive impact on national projects and accelerate digital transformation in the transport sector.
Al-Saadawi also toured the exhibition halls, where he met participants from both public and private sectors, praising the organisation and partnerships that help establish Iraq as a central logistics hub in the region.

وزير النقل يفتتح معرض النقل والطيران والخدمات اللوجستية 2025
افتتح وزير النقل رزاق محيبس السعداوي معرض النقل والطيران والخدمات اللوجستية (ITL EXPO 2025) يوم الأربعاء، بحضور مسؤولين وممثلين من شركات محلية ودولية في مجال النقل والبنى التحتية والخدمات اللوجستية.
“الاستثمار في قطاع النقل يحقق عوائد اقتصادية كبيرة من خلال خفض التكاليف وتعزيز القدرة التنافسية التجارية وتحسين كفاءة سلسلة التوريد. النقل هو أساس أي نهضة اقتصادية مستدامة.”
وأضاف أن معرض ITL EXPO 2025 يمثل منصة مهمة لتعزيز التعاون بين القطاعين العام والخاص وتشجيع تبادل المعرفة وجذب الاستثمارات النوعية. وأشار إلى أن الدول التي أتقنت أنظمة النقل استطاعت تحديد قوتها الاقتصادية والسياسية.
أبرز الإنجازات التي تم تسليط الضوء عليها:
- استكمال مطار الموصل الدولي
- قرب الانتهاء من مطار الناصرية الدولي
- تحديث أسطول الخطوط الجوية العراقية بـ 13 طائرة جديدة
- إكمال 78% من برنامج التصحيح IOSA
- انضمام العراق إلى نظام النقل الدولي TIR
سلط السعداوي الضوء على انضمام العراق إلى نظام النقل الدولي TIR كخطوة كبرى نحو تنفيذ مشروع طريق التنمية – أحد أكثر المبادرات الاستراتيجية في المنطقة – الذي يربط العراق بالتجارة العالمية من خلال شبكة متكاملة من الطرق السريعة والسكك الحديدية والمناطق الصناعية التي تقلل التكاليف ووقت السفر مع خلق فرص استثمارية واسعة.
وشدد على أن طريق التنمية ليس مجرد ممر نقل بل هو مشروع اقتصادي وتنموي شامل يشمل موانئ حديثة ومدن صناعية واستثمارات في ثمانية قطاعات رئيسية: الزراعة والصناعة والتجارة والسياحة والطاقة والنقل والاتصالات والخدمات اللوجستية. وقال إن المبادرة ستخلق مئات الآلاف من الوظائف وتعزز الإيرادات غير النفطية للعراق.
“العراق اليوم لا ينتظر المستقبل – بل يصنعه.”
وأشار الوزير أيضاً إلى أن الوزارة تقوم بتحديث شبكة السكك الحديدية العراقية، خاصة على طول ممر بغداد-بيجي-الموصل، كجزء من استراتيجية أوسع لتطوير البنية التحتية تتماشى مع أهداف التنمية المستدامة والبيئية.
خلال جلسة نقاشية في الحدث، قال السعداوي إن ورش العمل والندوات التي عقدت مع خبراء عراقيين ودوليين سيكون لها تأثير إيجابي دائم على المشاريع الوطنية وتسريع التحول الرقمي في قطاع النقل.
كما تجول السعداوي في قاعات المعرض، حيث التقى المشاركين من القطاعين العام والخاص، مشيداً بالتنظيم والشراكات التي تساعد في ترسيخ العراق كمركز لوجستي مركزي في المنطقة.
