Al-Zawraa Company Signs Contract for Hybrid Solar Power Plant

Al-Zawraa General Company, part of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, has signed a new contract to supply, install and operate a hybrid solar power plant for the Arab Oil Training Institute.

The project will have a generation capacity of 120 kilowatts (kW), supported by lithium battery storage with a capacity of 122 kilowatt-hours (kWh). It forms part of broader efforts to promote renewable energy and improve energy efficiency within government institutions.

According to the company’s Director General, Engineer Muhannad Jabbar al‑Khazraji, this project represents the second hybrid solar station implemented by Al‑Zawraa for the institute and is the largest executed to date. It follows the successful installation and operation of an earlier 113 kW system, which demonstrated strong and reliable performance.

He added that the project aligns with national policies aimed at expanding the use of clean energy, reducing reliance on conventional power sources, and supporting environmental sustainability. He also highlighted the company’s technical expertise in delivering dependable solar power systems for training and educational institutions.

شركة الزوراء العامة توقّع عقداً لإنشاء محطة طاقة شمسية هجينة

وقّعت شركة الزوراء العامة، إحدى تشكيلات وزارة الصناعة والمعادن، عقداً جديداً لتجهيز وتنصيب وتشغيل محطة طاقة شمسية هجينة لصالح معهد التدريب النفطي العربي.

وستبلغ القدرة الإنتاجية للمشروع 120 كيلوواط، مدعومة بمنظومة خزن طاقة باستخدام بطاريات الليثيوم بسعة 122 كيلوواط/ساعة، وذلك في إطار الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز استخدام الطاقة المتجددة وتحسين كفاءة استهلاك الطاقة في المؤسسات الحكومية.

وأوضح المدير العام للشركة، المهندس مهند جبار الخزرجي، أن هذا المشروع يُعد المحطة الشمسية الهجينة الثانية التي تنفذها الشركة لصالح المعهد، والأكبر من حيث السعة حتى الآن، مشيراً إلى أنه يأتي بعد النجاح الذي تحقق في تنصيب وتشغيل المحطة السابقة بقدرة 113 كيلوواط، والتي أظهرت أداءً فنياً متميزاً.

وأضاف أن المشروع ينسجم مع التوجهات والسياسات الوطنية الهادفة إلى التوسع في استخدام
