The Iraq Securities Commission (ISC) has approved Baghdad-based Al-Arqam Brokerage to operate in foreign securities and commodities markets, making it the first Iraqi company to receive such a licence under Regulatory Directive No. 35 of 2025.
The ISC said the licence was issued after Al-Arqam completed all legal, technical, and regulatory requirements, with the aim of ensuring a secure trading environment and protecting investor rights.
The commission said the move is part of a broader strategy to develop Iraq’s financial sector, expand investment opportunities, and link domestic and international markets.
