Minister of Oil Mr. Hayan Abdul Ghani received an Italian business delegation this week, led by Ms. Chiara Franchini, Deputy Head of Mission at the Italian Embassy in Baghdad.
The visiting delegation also included:
- Mr. Carlo Lombardi, Director of Italian energy company STP Studi Tecnologie Progetti S.p.A.;
- Mr. Franco Pigiocchi, Financial Director of STP;
- Mr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Araji, Director of Kafa’at Baghdad Engineering Company and STP’s representative in Iraq.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for joint cooperation in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. The discussions aim to strengthen the partnership between Iraq and Italy, promoting advancements in energy infrastructure and development.
In 2009, STP acquired LSTK, and Iraqi EPC contractor. The company has also carried out projects at Baghdad’s Dora Refinery.

استقبل وزير النفط السيد حيان عبد الغني هذا الأسبوع وفداً تجارياً إيطالياً برئاسة السيدة كيارا فرانشيني، نائبة رئيس البعثة في السفارة الإيطالية في بغداد.
وضم الوفد الزائر أيضاً:
السيد كارلو لومباردي، مدير شركة الطاقة الإيطالية STP Studi Tecnologie Progetti S.p.A.؛
السيد فرانكو بيجيوكي، المدير المالي لشركة STP؛
السيد أحمد حسن الأعرجي، مدير شركة كفاءات بغداد الهندسية وممثل شركة STP في العراق.
وركز الاجتماع على استكشاف سبل التعاون المشترك في قطاعات النفط والغاز والطاقة. وتهدف المناقشات إلى تعزيز الشراكة بين العراق وإيطاليا، وتعزيز التقدم في البنية التحتية للطاقة والتنمية.
في عام 2009، استحوذت شركة STP على شركة LSTK، وهي شركة مقاولات هندسة وتوريد وبناء عراقية. كما نفذت الشركة مشاريع في مصفاة الدورة ببغداد.
