Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met with a delegation from CLAAS, a leading German manufacturer of agricultural equipment, on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference.
Al-Sudani praised CLAAS for its successful operations in Iraq, noting the trust the company has built among Iraqi farmers due to the durability and reliability of its equipment. He highlighted strong demand for agricultural machinery in Iraq and emphasized the importance of collaboration with the General Company for Copper and Mechanical Industries to establish a local production line.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to the agricultural sector, stressing its role in food security and economic diversification. He pointed to successful wheat harvests in recent years, backed by government support, which have enabled Iraq to export significant quantities of locally produced wheat.
The CLAAS delegation reaffirmed the company’s longstanding presence in Iraq and its commitment to a genuine partnership. They also expressed readiness to develop a training center to enhance Iraqi technical skills and set up a service hub for equipment maintenance and support.
