Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has announced the launch of 14 infrastructure and rehabilitation projects in Sinjar and the Nineveh Plains, with a total budget of 18 billion IQD [$13.7 million].
These projects aim to rebuild roads and key infrastructure, supporting the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Funded by the Sinjar and Nineveh Plains Reconstruction Fund, the initiative is part of a broader government effort to restore areas devastated by ISIS, including Zummar and Qahtaniyah.
Al-Sudani emphasized the strategic importance of development projects in ensuring sustainable services, economic growth, and job creation in these regions.
Key future projects include the establishment of Sinjar University and a coordinated approach among ministries and local administrations to accelerate reconstruction efforts.
