Iraq’s Ministry of Planning has held a meeting of its Committee for the Simplification of Procedures and Government Services to review progress on institutional reforms and digital transformation initiatives.
According to the Ministry of Planning’s media office, the meeting was chaired by the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Hanaa Ismail Al-Asadi, and discussed the approved strategy for simplifying procedures and targeted services during 2026, with a focus on improving service quality and operational efficiency.
Attendees reviewed obstacles to implementing simplification and digital transformation plans, and emphasised the need for coordination with other ministries and bodies where shared services are involved.
The meeting also addressed the automation of ministry services and the adoption of electronic signatures across its departments and divisions. A proposal was put forward to establish a unified digital platform for Ministry of Planning services, through which citizens and public and private sector entities could submit and track requests online.
A number of directors-general and heads of departments attended the meeting.
